KwaliTenT
This project investigates the benefits of a quality-oriented tracking and tracing system (QTT).
In QTT, quality-oriented data like source, destination,
variety and conditions in the distribution chain (e.g. temperature and relative humidity) are also captured, in addition to T&T
data. This
enables the quality of a product to be monitored and forecasted throughout the supply chain.
The aim is to reduce product losses, inventories
and transport kilometres, and to improve food safety and customer service.
EC-Pack / Agrotecnology & Food Innovations is currently implementing QTT in vegetable, ornamental and meat
chains.
Intelligent Logistical Concepts
In this project, multiple practical cases have been implemented. A tool
has been developed to improve transparency in logistical chains. This has
resulted in improved efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics plan
throughout the chain.
Fruitfull
This project has
improved the information exchange between South-Africa and The
Netherlands concerning grape, citrus and avocado products. More
than 15 business partners were involved. Improving logistical info (amounts,
delivery time, etc.) and quality info (variety, source, grading etc) results
in a much more efficient chain in which the customer can be supplied with
the right product at the lowest possible costs.

KOPI (Product innovation in agro chains)
In this project, the critical success factors for product innovations in
food chains have been investigated. An innovation scorecard has been developed
to identify for what aspects (e.g. marketing competencies, technological
competencies), and at which locations in the chain (supplier, manufacturer,
retailer) the highest potential advantages are to improve the success rate
of new product introductions.

About myself:
Supply chain management has been a thread running through my career. It
has always interested me to see the interdependancy of individual chain
actors on one another, and how an overal optimisation and cooperation can
offer benefits for everyone.
Having grown up in a farm myself, the seeds for my
interest in food chains must have been sown there. Like no other businesses, food supply chains are
still very dependant on nature; yet we try to achieve homogeneous product
qualities despite varying circumstances.
These aspects of supply chain management in the food chain
motivate me to work on applied projects; my efforts are
dedicated to one customer or to a group of businesses in a supply chain.
